As part of the Best of the West High School Lacrosse Tournament, San Jose State played a divisional game against Cal Lutheran University. A 9:00am start is not a good idea for a college lacrosse game in Las Vegas, plus it does not get any better when your starting goalie misses the trip with strep throat. CLU put up a quick 3-0 lead before the Spartans even woke up and a 3 minute illegal stick penalty saw the 1st quarter end with the Spartans trailing 4-2. From that point the Spartan defense shut down the Knights and the offense played very unselfish lacrosse outscoring CLU 11-0 over the Final 3 periods. The win improves SJSU to 2-0 in WCLL North Division play.
