On Feburary 16th, the San Jose State Spartans hosted their first home game of the 2013 season against the newest members of WCLL Division 2, Cal State Monterey Bay. The sky is clear blue, the sun is out, and the temperature is in the high 60's, as the first whistle is blown. Freshmen Face Off Specialist (FOGO), Andrew McDonald, wins the first of many faceoffs of the game and sprints down to go onto the offensive.

Both San Jose State and Monterey Bay gets off to a rough start as only two goals are scored during the first period. Luckily, the game picks up by the end of the second quarter as the Spartans score six more goals to end the first half of the game with an 8-0 lead. During the 3rd quarter, Senior Otter Midfielder Ragnar Larsen scores a goal to give the Otters their first goal of their MCLA career. By the end of the game however, the Spartans have scored an addition 11 goals since the start of the second half, securing a well fought 19-1 Victory against the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters.
