Kohlstadt has been an integral part of the Women's Club Rugby Team at SJSU, receiving the 2022 West Coast Rugby Conference Most Tries at 35 this season. When asked about her season, Kholstadt explains, "...the added pressure of it being mine and some of my teammates' last year with the team was tough, because we knew we only had one shot to do this thing! I think learning how to be adaptive and resilient has made me a much stronger player than I was before the season started."
In a final message, Kholstadt hopes to share some motivation and encouragement with the community.
"One thing I'd love to share about rugby in general is just some words of encouragement for anyone, at any age or level of athleticism who is thinking about joining rugby. Do it!! It's such an awesome community. I joined the San Jose State team by accident pretty much and looking back it has molded my college experience and I honestly can't imagine if I hadn't done it."
Best of luck in Tampa, Monique!
